My word of the year
Happy New Year! Do you choose a word of the year? This year, mine is “Traction.” Not really a sexy or warm, fuzzy word, but important. To me, traction is about doing less, but digging deeper into those things so that they really stick. I’m ready to gain traction in my personal and work goals this year.
Mastering traction in your wardrobe
Less really is more. The power of traction in your wardrobe should not be underestimated. In a world of endless choices, it’s easy to get lost in the sea of options. The key to success, whether in business or fashion, often lies in narrowing things down.
1. Digging In: Just like a successful business idea, your wardrobe needs a focused approach. Instead of chasing every trend, dig into your personal style. What truly resonates with you? Find your personal style “north star” and build from there.
2. Grounding Yourself: Traction is about being rooted in your goals. In your wardrobe, this means investing in quality pieces that stand the test of time. Build a foundation of timeless classics, and then sprinkle in a few trendy items to keep things fresh.
3. Do Less, Accomplish More: Ever feel overwhelmed by choices? Simplify! Apply the principle of doing less but doing it well. A curated wardrobe makes getting ready a breeze and ensures that every piece serves a purpose.
4. Reassess Regularly: It isn’t a one-time effort; it’s an ongoing process. Regularly reassess your wardrobe. Consign or donate what no longer serves you, and invest in pieces that align with your evolving style and goals.
Remember, whether in work, life, or style, traction comes from a focused, intentional effort. In 2024, let’s dig in, ground ourselves, do less, and accomplish more in our lives and in our wardrobes!
